Project Details
Magneto-opto-electrical measurement system with high spatial and temporal resolution
Subject Area
Condensed Matter Physics
Term
from 2022 to 2023
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 505961721
The main focus of the research utilizing the requested instrument is to study spatially and time resolved magnetization dynamics in antiferromagnets in which emergent optical, electrical and thermal magnetotransport phenomena arise due to particular crystal and magnetic lattice symmetries. We will develop various methods to exploit these magnetotransport effects for measuring the ultrafast exchange enhanced magnetisation dynamics. The requested instrumentation comprises a low-vibration magnetooptical cryostat with high spatial resolution scanning ability and electrical access up to microwave frequencies including a large magnetic vector field and combined with a high energy fs- pulse laser system.
