This TP aims to develop methods for the precise prediction of the damping performance for acoustic resonators, with due consideration of temperature inhomogeneities and nonlinear effects. In FP3, the transient temperature distribution in resonators will determined by means of LES. In these simulations, the turbulent flow conditions within the combustion chamber and the conjugate heat transfer at the wall will be taken into account. Acoustic oscillation in the chamber and the resonator can enhance the axial heat transfer signifi-cantly. With the knowledge of the temperature profile in the resonator, its influence on the damping perfor-mance will be analyzed in a quantitative manner.
