Role of lymphocytes for the progression of a genetically determined cardiomyopathy (A05)

Subject Area Cardiology, Angiology
Term since 2022
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 453989101

Project Description

Building on our own data showing that the development of the cardiac phenotype in a mouse model of Duchenne’s cardiomyopathy relies on lymphocytes, this project aims to understand how lymphocytes (T- and B-cells) are activated and influence the development and progression of genetic cardiomyopathy. We hypothesize that the mechanism identified here may also play a role in other non-ischemic cardiomyo- pathies.
