Project Details
How cell death shapes tumor evolution during carcinogenesis (C01 [B06])
Subject Area
Evolutionary Cell and Developmental Biology (Zoology)
Term
since 2022
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 325931972
The project will quantitatively analyze the role of cell death in tumor evolution. How does cell death and its potential loss affect cancer evolution, specifically the clonal heterogeneity and fitness of tumors? Our approach combines in vitro and in vivo work on cell death pathways, clonal analyses, and a fitness model for cell death pathways to map and predict trajectories of cell death pathway inactivation in cancer.
