Subject Area
Theatre and Media Studies
Term
since 2022
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 451897170
The research project analyses performances, installations, audio walks, sound art, and neighbouring artistic fields which mobilize, disrupt, or criticize normative social and political orders by employing specific acoustic compositions that make postcolonial and queer positions heard. It asks which particular artistic strategies are being employed by contemporary performing arts in order to acoustically and auditorily subvert gender and ethnic stereotypes, modes of representation, limitations, and exclusions.
