The research project examines improvisation as a paradigmatic artistic practice from an art philosophical point of view. To this end, it establishes an analogy between artistic interventions in other practices and impulses in improvisations. Interventions thus function as impulses that are comparable to those which propel an improvisation forward. This places equal focus on generating interventions and reacting to them: the skills that both are based on will be analysed.
