Density-dependence of the temporal structure in the multimessenger spectrum of blazars (A07)
Subject Area

Active galaxies are studied as possible accelerators for ultra-high energy cosmic rays by modeling the time-dependent injection of high-energy particles in AGN jets. In this project, a numerical model for flares of a combination of leptons and hadrons is developed and applied to the long-term multimessenger lightcurves. For this purpose, different source classes are used and an acceleration scenario based on relativistic reconnection is investigated together with the influence of high-density regions with the aim to specifically study the hadron-hadron interactions and the resulting gamma-ray and neutrino fluxes in these high-density regions.
