Project Details
Synthesis of real-life loads in pavements using novel laboratory techniques (A04)
Subject Area
Construction Material Sciences, Chemistry, Building Physics
Term
since 2022
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 453596084
In TP A04, new procedures will be developed for the detailed characterization of the behavior of pavement materials, which are expected to provide a significant increase in knowledge compared to the procedures used in FOR 2089. The new true-triaxial test rig will allow fundamentally new approaches to characterize the material behavior of the pavement materials to be developed and their modeling. In particular, TP A04 will develop test and optimization procedures for the pavement materials (initially asphalt concrete, later concrete) and adapt them for the sensitive high-performance asphalt concrete and high-performance concrete. Automated data interfaces to the digital twin, which will be implemented in Phase I via TP INF, will create completely new features compared to the current state of science and art.
