Mass fluxes and budgets at catchment and continental scales (D07)

Subject Area Geodesy, Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing, Geoinformatics, Cartography
Term since 2022
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 450058266

Project Description

This project will analyse terrestrial/atmospheric and surface water mass fluxes and associated budget contributions from models and observations for all larger catchments in the model region. Boundary fluxes at all catchments will be estimated jointly while enforcing mass conservation and internal consistency, and model outputs will be first consistently adjusted to fit catchment-integrating observations like GRACE/-FO derived water storage variability and river discharge at larger scales. We will also be able to quantify the terrestrial-atmospheric contribution of the modelling region to sea level budgets.
