Project Description

The project will deal with the spectral analysis of transmission problems for Laplace- and Dirac-type operators. The main objective is to develop an approach based on the study of the associated boundary integral operators, especially under the loss of ellipticity and for the case of interactions concentrated on non-smooth Lipschitz surfaces. This approach will lead to a description of new spectral phenomena including new types of essential spectra and unusual asymptotic distributions of eigenvalues.
