In the future, information on scientific publications will be documented at the IOER in such a way that detailed information on Open Access and especially on the associated costs can be retrieved. The thereby enabled monitoring might support the future controlling processes in the IOER. Currently, metadata on publications is recorded at IOER based on requirements of the Leibniz Association and the funding bodies as well as oriented towards the core data set for research (Kerndatensatz Forschung). All information on costs is registered and documented by the administration unit of the Institute. The further development of collection procedures for publication data requires thorough analyses of the previous procedures and the complex requirements on monitoring, an appropriate structuring of contents and processes, an adequate technical implementation as well as the efficient organizational integration. Good framework conditions at the IOER foster the implementation of such a project.For the application for DFG funding of future Open Access publications of the IOER, we explored the Open Access Monitor and extracted publication figures for the years 2018 to 2020. For the years 2022 to 2024, we forecast a certain amount of IOER Open Access publications as the base for the requested funding.
