The University of Bayreuth has provided researchers with a well-established publication fund since 2012, which is backed up by a comprehensive range of services for researchers on issues relating to OA publishing. A strong increase in OA gold article numbers, transformation contracts, especially within the framework of the DEAL project, and a growing demand for funding of additional document types such as OA monographs require the implementation of new technical, organisational, and personnel structure. In order to ensure a comprehensive and reliable service for the university’s scientific staff, the University of Bayreuth is requesting financial support from the DFG as part of the programme "Open Access Publication Funding".
