Justus Liebig University (JLU) Giessen has been supporting Open Access for a long time, including a publication fund managed centrally by the university library, which was funded by the DFG from 2012-2019 as part of the "Open Access Publishing" programme. In addition, funding was obtained from the DFG for the years 2022 to 2024 as part of the "Open Access Publication Costs" programme. The requested funds are to be used to further support publications in Gold Open Access (journal articles, books), which are (co-)financed via the JLU Open Access Publication Fund, as well as to support consortial transformation contracts. In addition, existing structures for standardised and automated monitoring of the number and costs of open access publications at JLU are to be further developed.
