Genetic and phenotypic characterization of immunological niche conformance in cavefish (B06*)

Project B06 addresses the important question whether and how niche conformance is maintained upon adaption to different environments using the Mexican cavefish. Here we will define the parasitological niche of various cavefish populations and, by using image cytometry and single cell RNA sequencing, identify differences in cellular and genetic mechanisms that mediate individual niche conformance. Hence, this project will elucidate the importance of genomic adaptation in individual niche conformance.
