Project Details
The role of chromatin in the establishment of inter-chromosomal DNA-DNA interactions (A33*)
Subject Area
General Genetics and Functional Genome Biology
Term
since 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 213249687
Inter-chromosomal interactions are essential for gene regulation in numerous biological systems including the mutually exclusive antigen expression in African Trypanosomes. Yet, very little is known about the mechanisms leading to the establishment and maintenance of such interactions. The goal of the work proposed here is to combine different live-cell imaging approaches and proteomics-based chromatin analyses to determine the molecular factors responsible for the establishment and maintenance of distinct inter-chromosomal DNA-DNA interactions in Trypanosoma brucei.
