Project Details
Aerosol-Cloud inTeractIon and water Vapour transport in high UPdraft regimes (ACTIV-UP) (A01)
Subject Area
Atmospheric Science
Term
since 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 428312742
Airborne measurements of cloud microphysical properties in convective towers and anvil tops will be performed in central Europe. These cloud properties will be related to the aerosol concentration in the inflow of the convective systems. Further, high resolution water vapour and total water measurements will be envisaged in and above these convective cells to ad-dress the importance of transport pathways in high updraft regimes for the UTLS water budget. The data will be used for satellite, global and convection resolving model validation in collaboration with other projects in the CRC.
