Project Description

This project aims at an improved understanding of nontrivial ordering, dynamics and the detection of higher order correlations in ultra-cold atomic gases in the presence of strong correlations. Its focus lies on Fermi gases near a Feshbach resonance or in optical lattices. Of particular interest are the connection between few- and many-body correlations, the criteria for ferromagnetic or p-wave instabilities in strongly repulsive Fermi gases, the conditions for adiabatic time-evolution in many-body systems without a gap and the extraction of higher order correlations from the statistics of interference amplitudes.
