Neutralizing monoclonal antibodies to SARS-CoV2 have been shown to reduce viral load after challenge of passively immunized animals. Since the mechanisms of protection have not been defined the project aims to determine whether Fc-effector mechanisms contribute to protection and whether neutralizing and non-neutralizing antibodies to the SARS-COV-2 spike protein can prevent in vivo the infection of the first cells by viruses from the inocculum.
