Project Description

The Laser Ranging Interferometer (LRI) aboard the GRACE Follow-On mission is the first ever inter-satellite interferometer. During the design of the LRI, countless optical simulations were performed for optimisation, but simulation capabilities are still limited by numerous aspects. Within this project, we will therefore address such fundamental questions that are common in many different applications. We will also couple the software package (IfoCAD) for our simulations with the eXtended High Performance satellite dynamics Simulator (XHPS) developed in project B02.
