This project aims at combining state-of-the-art coarse-grained models for the stochastic dynamics of thin elastic rods with single-molecule fluorescence-spectroscopic experiments that allow for directly measuring conformational fluctuations of intrinsically disordered proteins (IDPs). The aim is to embed measurements of conformational fluctuations of IDPs into a comprehensive and powerful mathematical model that allows for connecting the experimental data with a full picture of the underlying conformational dynamics.
