Thermo-mechanical treatment of microstructures for damage control in cold forming (A08*+)

The aim of this subproject is to develop thermo-mechanically guided treatment strategies leading to microstructures in the steels DP800 and 16MnCrS5 that accumulate as little damage as possible during cold forming. A combination of basic material characterization tests using small specimens and simulative methods is used to efficiently identify and test a large number of different microstructures with regard to damage.
