A rich variety of prominent quantum phenomena, such as the occurrence of quantum spin liquid states and unconventional superconductivity, are intimately related to the quantum phase transitions occurring at zero temperature as a function of an external parameter (doping, pressure, field, etc.). The presence of an external magnetic field breaks time reversal symmetry which may induce new states of matter which will be addressed using novel non-linear THz spectroscopy methods. The central aim is to obtain a fundamental understanding of non-trivial topological quantum states of matter.
