Project Details
Hydrogels with spatial patterning of biophysical and biochemical properties to guide osteogenesis (P08)
Subject Area
Medical Informatics and Medical Bioinformatics
Term
since 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 427826188
Cipitria will continue to develop a material platform using hydrogel technologies that allow a spatial patterning of biophysical and biochemical properties to guide osteogenesis. Cipitria and her team will use previously developed basic principles of hydrogel synthesis and apply them to understand key processes of physiological bone regeneration and their pathological alterations. They will use biophysical cues to modulate cell metabolic activity, proliferation and soft tissue organisation in vitro and will investigate how patterns in biochemical cues can modulate osteogenesis. Alginate matrices primed with a cargo of immune molecules will be used to induce an acellular immune effect on cell metabolic activity, proliferation, soft tissue organisation and osteogenesis in vitro.
