Project Description

The proposed research network aims to differentiate the close relationship between gender studies and media studies in the course of digital affect economies. It discusses how gender, media and affect interact and how social, subjective and cultural processes are explained via questions of gender and mediality. This connection is elaborated with a focus on a specific affective economy that becomes visible in hate speech, digital violence or cyber racism.
