Visualization in billiards and geometry (C06)

Subject Area Image and Language Processing, Computer Graphics and Visualisation, Human Computer Interaction, Ubiquitous and Wearable Computing
Mathematics
Term from 2021 to 2025
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 281071066

Project Description

This project is concerned with developing novel visualization concepts and software for effective analysis of billiard dynamics, contact geometry, and line fibrations. This shall support exploration and hypothesis formation, validation and hypothesis testing, as well as reasoning and communication within the CRC and beyond. We develop novel object-based and view-dependent analysis techniques, including representation, feature extraction, and navigation of manifolds, Reeb vector fields, global surfaces of section, plane fields, and line fibrations.
