Project A09 conducts analyses of social policies, focusing on (a) the evolution and perception of inequality, (b) the effects of policies and the tax-and-transfer system on individual behavior and inequality, and (c) the design of policy reforms. The project’s research agenda includes theoretical analyses of optimal policy, surveys on social perceptions and preferences for redistribution, and empirical research on the effects of family policy reforms. Different parts of the analyses relate to either high-income or low-income countries.
