DNP-enhanced solid-state NMR offers an increase in sensitivity by orders of magnitude. It opens the door to new, unconventional NMR experiments and especially the analysis of samples with low spin numbers. We use this technique especially for the study of membrane proteins and in particular for probing subunit interactions within large complexes, for analyzing low-populated intermediate states and for small molecules in complex with transporters or receptors. Protein families of interest are GPCRs, ABC transporter, kinases and photoreceptors. In order to continue and to expand these studies, an outdated NMR console within the excising DNP-NMR spectrometer needs to be replaced, which is the aim of this proposal.
