Chemical Imaging of Structured Catalysts using High Resolution X-ray Microscopy and To-mography (C03)
Subject Area

Technical Chemistry
Technical Chemistry
Term
since 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 426888090
This project addresses the structural and chemical complexity of technical emission control catalysts us-ing multimodal and multiscale synchrotron-radiation-based hard X-ray microscopy and tomography, complemented by electron tomography. This allows non-invasive chemical imaging of technical catalysts on all relevant length scales for catalysis from nm to mm. In situ and operando methods will also be used to derive structure-activity relationships, and relate local structure observations to catalyst performance. The rich data output can be used to assist simulation, modelling and kinetic studies.
