Coarse-grained nonequilibrium dynamics of active soft matter (A09)

Subject Area Statistical Physics, Nonlinear Dynamics, Complex Systems, Soft and Fluid Matter, Biological Physics
Term since 2020
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 233630050

Project Description

The goal of the project is to develop a conceptually new and generic multiscale simulation method which describes large ensembles of active colloid dispersions including their full near- and far-field interactions at a resolution beyond existing continuum approaches. To reach this goal, the project develops detailed simulations of autophoretic colloids and combines them with coarse-graining techniques for which it exploits the TRR 146 framework. This should enable us to simulate very large ensembles of active colloids including their full hydrodynamic and phoretic many body interactions.
