Optimizing treatment expectations in internet-based interventions for depression (A16)

Subject Area Personality Psychology, Clinical and Medical Psychology, Methodology
Term since 2020
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 422744262

Project Description

Project A16 will extend their previous work on the role of illness beliefs as a crucial determinant of treatment expectation and treatment outcomes in major depression by turning to the rapidly developing field of internet-based interventions (IBI). Knowledge about the role of expectations, their malleability, and modulating contextual factors in IBI is lacking, and the setting provides a unique opportunity to delineate the temporal dynamics of treatment expectations and their interplay with treatment experiences, putative psychotherapeutic mechanisms, symptom perception, and side effects, and how these influence health-related decisions.
