Project Details
Parton distribution functions on the lattice (B12*)
Subject Area
Nuclear and Elementary Particle Physics, Quantum Mechanics, Relativity, Fields
Term
from 2021 to 2024
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 196253076
Using lattice QCD and the recently developed large-momentum effective theory (LaMET), this project aims at studying various aspects of the partonic structure of the nucleon. In particular, these are the computation and the understanding of the physical mechanism behind the flavour asymmetry in the nucleon, the investigation of the reliability of computing the gluon distribution using LaMET, and the first calculation of the nucleon generalized parton distributions (GPDs) on the lattice at the physical pion mass.
