This project proposal describes a planned cooperative project of the groups of Prof. Hansjörg Grützmacher, ETH Zurich, Switzerland and Prof. Arne Thomas, TU Berlin, Germany. The goal of this project is to develop multifunctional homogeneous and well-defined catalysts for the selective reduction of nitrogen oxides (N2O and NOx) and to understand their catalytic performance. These catalysts will then be immobilized on ordered and non-ordered porous organic supports to obtain a solid material with well-defined single catalytic sites which shall serve as highly selective and active heterogeneous catalyst.
