Today, architectural research is a heterogeneous field of different and separated actors. Individual disciplinary academic research, research-oriented academic teaching and non-academic practice-oriented research with their different forms of mediation are aimed at experts, students or the interested public. However, the potential of architectural research - as in architectural practice - lies precisely in synthesizing knowledge from the various disciplines, from Humboldt's link of research and teaching, and from job-oriented practice.The Architectural Research Stage (ARS) offers a comprehensive model and an actively connecting infrastructure for such collaborative architectural research. For the first time, not only results and data, but also contexts of architectural research are generated, connected and made visible on a web-based platform. On the basis of an actor model for interdisciplinary collaborations, the respective contexts of creation can be independently annotated by the researchers. Using graph technology, research contexts and research results are automatically linked to form a network graph. Via an image-based interface, the network of actors in architectural research, which is generated by the researchers themselves, is visible and explorable. Not only existing connections become visible, but also possible questions, valuable sources, exciting topic connections or possible partnerships become discoverable. Central tasks of the experimental pilot project are the development, testing and evaluation of ARS. The results serve as a decision basis for a national and international dissemination in a follow-up project. The project is carried out as a joint project of the TU Berlin and the UdK Berlin under the direction of the Department of Architectural Theory of the TU Berlin and the participation of cooperation partners from other academic and non-academic fields in Berlin-Brandenburg.
