Project Details
Integration of Passive and Active Functions in Additively Manufactured Construction Elements (C03)
Subject Area
Architecture, Building and Construction History, Construction Research, Sustainable Building Technology
Term
since 2020
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 414265976
The project focused on climate-aware and fabrication-aware design strategies in the 1st funding period through the integration of essential services via additive manufacturing (AM) building elements. Simulation workflows (thermal performance, thermal comfort, and energy performance) have been prepared to analyse and enhance certain aspects of the AM element. Furthermore, some element performances found through the simulations were tested and validated through in-situ measurements. In the 2nd funding period, the workflows will be further enhanced and combined for multi-objective design optimisation for AM elements with multiple functional integration targets. The impact of the design elements will be assessed and new demonstrators will be produced for testing and evaluation.
