Project Details
Multiphysics description of Mg composites at the grain scale (C01)
Subject Area
Mechanical Properties of Metallic Materials and their Microstructural Origins
Term
from 2020 to 2023
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 409476157
The project will study the geometrical effects of the three-dimensional composite network on the mechanical response of composites in a joint experimental-computational approach. In addition, deformation twinning and the associated twin boundary defect phases will be studied experimentally and included in the crystal plasticity model. Eventually, the defect phases, their mechanisms and related stresses to induce deformation derived in the other projects will be implemented into the crystal plasticity model.
