Project Details
Correlative structural, chemical and bonding characterisation of 1D and 2D defect phases (A03)
Subject Area
Thermodynamics and Kinetics as well as Properties of Phases and Microstructure of Materials
Term
since 2020
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 409476157
In project A03, mechanically deformed samples will be investigated and characterised with respect to their structural and chemical complexity. The focus is on one-dimensional defect phases, such as dislocations in the volume and at grain and phase boundaries, and two-dimensional defect phases, such as stacking faults and twin boundaries. The high-resolution investigations in the transmission electron microscope will first complete the results in Mg alloys and then focus on Ni-based alloys.
