Project Details
Solid solution effects on the formation of defect phases in Ni-X solid solutions (A01)
Subject Area
Mechanical Properties of Metallic Materials and their Microstructural Origins
Term
since 2020
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 409476157
Project A01 will focus on the study of the interactions of atoms in solution with dislocations, stacking faults and grain boundaries and their influence on the mechanical properties in Ni-X solid solutions. The influence of impurity atoms at grain boundaries on recrystallisation behaviour and grain boundary mobility will also be investigated. Micromechanics, scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy will be used for this purpose.
