The objective of D06 is the development of optimisation methodologies under uncertainty, made specifically for hedging particle formation processes against not precisely measurable parameters and uncertainties. We will provide (distributionally) robust, optimised processes for advanced chromatography, coupled with particle synthesis, that are able to include robust combinatorial decisions. High-quality discretisations and outer approximation methods will be investigated for discrete-continuous decisions, integrating a novel adaptive bundle method. By generalising the bundle method for determining absorber positions in imperfect structurally-coloured materials, D06 will in addition reach out to establishing quality control for optical properties.
