Project Details
Process concepts for size-selective nanoparticle chromatography (B05)
Subject Area
Chemical and Thermal Process Engineering
Term
since 2020
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 416229255
The objective of B05 is the development of efficient scalable processes for classification and purification of nanoparticles. We will exploit interaction chromatography to separate nanoparticles using stationary phase materials from the CRC. Tailored processes with enhanced performance are devised by model-based design and optimisation, using parameters from experiment and simulation. We focus on high-resolution schemes using advanced recycling modes and gradients, multifraction processes based on clever column arrangements per-forming simultaneously multiple fractionations and purification and, finally, novel simulated moving bed concepts for fully continuous nanoparticle classifications. The most suitable processes will be coupled to continuous particle syntheses.
