Textural properties of porous materials for particle chromatography (B03)

Subject Area Technical Chemistry
Term since 2020
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 416229255

Project Description

The objective of B03 is the development of reliable methodologies for the textural characterisation of functionalised, hierarchical stationary phase materials (SPMs) immersed in a liquid phase to identify and characterise the key properties correlated with their performance in particle chromatography. We focus on the development of novel methodologies based on nuclear magnetic resonance relaxometry and inverse size exclusion chromatography, coupled with advanced gas adsorption, liquid intrusion and high frequency conductivity measurements for pore size/porosity analysis, leading to a consistent and unified framework for the characterisation of SPMs in the wet and dry state.
