Synthesis of hierarchical porous materials for nanoparticle chromatography (B01)

Subject Area Solid State and Surface Chemistry, Material Synthesis
Term since 2020
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 416229255

Project Description

The objective of B01 is the preparation of stationary phase materials with systematically adjustable properties, as required for a rational design of nanoparticle chromatography. We develop such materials along three central directions: Supraparticlebased stationary phase materials with spatially defined pore distributions will be used to systematically establish structure-packing-separation properties. Hierarchical meso-macroporous particles prepared by confined phase separation will provide even larger macropores. Pore specific surface functionalisation will be used to control the confined diffusion of nanoparticles within the porous network and enhance chromatographic separation based on adjustable nanoparticle-pore interactions.
