Investigation of compact stars with heavy baryons and quarks: second period
Subject Area
Nuclear and Elementary Particle Physics, Quantum Mechanics, Relativity, Fields
Astrophysics and Astronomy
Term
from 2020 to 2024
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 433859871
This project is aimed at contrinuing the study of the equation of state dense matter featuring heavy baryons, such as hyperons andDelta-resonances, as well as deconfined quark matter. The equation of state will be studied under the conditions of finite temperaturerelevant for hot compact stars, that emerge in binary-neutron-star mergers and supernova explosions. The weak interaction rates involving Delta-resonances will be derived and used for the studies of neutrino interactions with matter and long-term cooling of neutron stars.
