Project Details
Machining concepts for grinding in oxygen-free atmosphere (C04)
Subject Area
Metal-Cutting and Abrasive Manufacturing Engineering
Term
since 2020
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 394563137
The aim of the subproject is to gain knowledge of the relationships between atmosphere, tool specifications, cooling lubricant conditions and process parameters and their influence on the tribomechanical behaviour during grinding with ceramic-bonded porous grinding tools and the subsurface properties of the workpiece. For this purpose, in-situ grinding investigations will be carried out with a defined cooling lubricant supply for controlled regulation of the grinding temperature. With the knowledge gained, a model will be developed to predict the tribomechanical load considering the ambient atmosphere and to understand its interaction with the subsurface properties of the component.
