We apply for a laser system for conducting Raman spectrocopy of quantum gases of ultracold atoms. The scientific goal is the detection of complex quantum states of ultracold atoms in optical lattices, for example, of states with long-range magnetic order or states with special topological properties. The spectroscopy should be highly resolved in both energy and momentum with additional high spatial resolution in order to allow for a precise characterization of the excitations. To this end, we intend to use two-photon Raman transitions, which fulfil all requirements, and we apply for a laser system to two phase-locked lasers to conduct the proposed Experiments.
