Project Details
Nano-functionalization of magnetic microparticles for engineering grain boundaries during additive manufacturing (A11)
Subject Area
Chemical and Thermal Process Engineering
Term
since 2020
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 405553726
Project A11 will study the way for i) mechanically stable, permanent magnets built under material resource efficient conditions in PBF-LB and ii) an expansion of the digital data twin by adding a material vector to gain a 3D compositional reconstruction of the printed as-build parts. Processing condition can be tuned while monitoring in-situ the chemical composition to find a sweet spot towards dense parts with improved hysteresis. The numerical (A06), experimental magnetic (A10, A12), and microstructural characterization (A08, Z01, Z02, A03) will be performed.
