Project Details
Hysteresis design by nanostructural-engineering through continuous forming processes (A09)
Subject Area
Metal-Cutting and Abrasive Manufacturing Engineering
Term
from 2020 to 2023
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 405553726
Within this project, advanced manufacturing technologies are used for optimizing the nanostructure and magnetic hysteresis by forming the macroscopic cross-sectional structures into the micro- or nano-scale. The targeted approach allows top-down production of samples on a macroscopic scale with adjustable nanostructures. In parallel to the development of a continuous severe plastic deformation (SPD) process, fundamental scientific issues are addressed. This class of processes is advantageous for large-scale production, but so far inaccessible for magnetic materials.
