Project Details
Phase-field modeling of microstructure evolution and properties of magnetic materials by powder bed fusion (A06)
Subject Area
Synthesis and Properties of Functional Materials
Term
since 2020
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 405553726
Simulation-oriented methods will be adopted by bridging the influencing factors across different scales to achieve magnetic hysteresis tailoring for AM. Finite element powder bed fusion (PBF) simulations and micromagnetic calculations will be carried out to reveal the process-microstructure-property correlation systematically and to suggest optimal process conditions for hysteresis design on the model material system such as the binary permanent magnets SmCo5.The thermodynamic, kinetic, and magnetic properties of the material system will be obtained from literature and cooperation with projects A01, A02, A04, A05, A07, A10, B11, B12, B13.
