3-Tesla Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Scanner

Subject Area Neurosciences
Term Funded in 2020
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 432592768

Neuromodulation is one out of three long-standing research focus areas at the medical faculty of the University of Cologne. To support this focus on clinical neuroscience, funding for an MRI scanner is requested that will be exclusively be used to realise scientific projects. It is planned to establish a modern research platform with multiple participating centres including the faculty of humanities, different departments of the medical faculty and the Max-Planck-Institut for Metabolic Research. With the establishment of the MRI scanner we expect essential synergies and the unique opportunity to connect the high expertise located at the University of Cologne in the area of clinical neuroscience. Besides numerous running and planned studies, the MRI scanner will support the execution of a Collaborative Research Center that is requested in a parallel proposal.
