Term
from 2019 to 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 172116086
The transfer project will investigate the influence of surface morphology on the fatigue of rolling contacts under mixed friction conditions. The planned investigations are based on the micro-scale tribo-simulation model, materials analysis and experiments developed within the framework of a SFB. This combination of rolling fatigue tests, surface characterization and simulations of material fatigue should provide information about the lifetime influence of surface roughness on rolling fatigue. With the help of the test results, recommendations for the economic production of rolling surfaces will be derived.
