Time-, momentum-, and energy-resolved dynamics of excitons and phonons in TMDC/organic hybrids (B17*)
Subject Area
Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics

The central goal of project is to obtain a microscopic understanding of electronic and vibrational excitations in TMDC-organic (TMDC: transition metal dichalcogenide) hybrid inorganic/organic systems (HIOS). We will study the dynamics of excitons in four dimensions (energy, momentum, time) with time- and angle-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy as the associated structural dynamics with femtosecond electron diffraction. We aim to identify the dominating mechanisms governing microscopic energy and charge flow and to quantify basic phenomena like exciton-phonon coupling and energy dissipation.
